Designing clarity into a new food business model — so the website sells without over-explaining

Where I come in

You know how to explain it in a room. The story needs to work when you’re not there.

Your strongest point comes halfway through the deck. The website explains every feature, but leaves people wondering why it matters to them. You keep filling in the gaps on calls because the materials aren’t doing enough of the work.

What I look for

Where people lose the thread.

  • The value comes too late

People work through introductions, features, and background before finding out why they should care.

  • One story for every audience

Investors, buyers, and users arrive with different questions. The same message leaves some of them unanswered.

  • Everything gets equal weight

There’s plenty to say, but no clear order. The point people need to remember competes with everything else.

  • Claims without enough proof

The promises are there. The examples, results, and details that make them believable are harder to find.

  • A different story in every place

Your website, pitch, and sales deck explain the business differently. Each needs its own emphasis, with a shared story underneath.

  • An unclear next step

People understand what you do, but don’t have enough reason to enquire, try the product, or continue the conversation.

Two ways to work together

The right story, shaped for where it needs to work.

The audience and intended outcome guide the work. We can focus on your website, your deck, or bring both together around a shared narrative.

Websites

From narrative to a live website.

I shape the story, design the experience, and develop the website. We work through what different visitors need to understand, how they find it, and what will help them take the next step.

Narrative · Copy · Design · Development · Launch

Pitch & sales decks

Build the story around the decision.

I help you work out what the audience needs to see, understand, and believe. Then I shape the sequence and design for the way you’ll use it—in a live conversation or as a deck someone reads on their own.

My process

From what you want to say to what people take away.

Choose your format

01 / Audience + goals

Start with who’s visiting and why.

We identify the audiences the website needs to serve, the questions they bring, and the actions that matter to your business. That gives us a clear basis for the content, structure, and build.

Typical outputs:

  • 01Audience priorities and visitor journeys
  • 02Website goals and key actions
  • 03Review of existing content and performance
  • 04Scope and technical requirements

How I think about the work

Start with the impact we want to create.

A buyer deciding whether to book a call needs different information from an investor weighing an opportunity. I work backwards from those decisions to shape what we say, what we show, and how the experience unfolds.

  1. 01

Give each audience a way in

I get clear on what matters to each group, what they need to understand, and what might hold them back. That guides the message and the route through the content.

  2. 02

    Let the narrative lead

I find the connection between what you do and why someone should care. That thread shapes the structure, the proof, and the design.

  3. 03

Bring the right people into the work

I lead the narrative and design, develop the frontend, and bring in copywriting and development specialists where needed. I stay close to the work through reviews and delivery to make sure the quality holds throughout.

  4. 04

    Put proof where it matters

A result, a product example, or a customer story can answer a question at the right moment. I build that evidence into the story.

  5. 05

Carry the thinking through to delivery

The details need to hold up in the finished website or presentation. I review how it reads, looks, and works in the situations people will actually encounter it.

Ways to work together

A website, a deck, or both working together.

I take care of the narrative, bring in the expertise the project needs, and carry the work through design and delivery.

Frequently asked questions

A few things you might be wondering.

No. Bring what you have—an existing website, an old deck, product notes, or the explanation you usually give on calls. I help shape the narrative and structure, then bring in a copywriting expert to develop the words.

Per project. I look at the scope and what you’re trying to achieve, then recommend the structure that suits it best. One-time project fees generally work well. I also take on monthly retainers for 2–3 months, with each month scoped to a set goal.

I lead the narrative, messaging priorities, and content direction. A copywriting expert develops the copy, and we refine it together alongside the design. I coordinate that part of the project.

Yes. I develop the frontend myself and take care of the website through launch. When specialist development is needed, I bring in dedicated experts and oversee the work with them, staying responsible for design quality and the finished experience.

I work with Framer, Webflow, Astro, and Next.js, and use Cloudflare for hosting and infrastructure where appropriate. We choose the setup around the website’s requirements and how your team will maintain it.

Yes. I can build on your existing identity and collaborate with your copywriter. We start by establishing the narrative, audience priorities, and what the project needs to achieve.

They should share a clear foundation. The sequence, emphasis, and level of detail change depending on the audience and how they encounter it.

Yes. We plan for your editing needs from the start. Websites can include a CMS for the content your team manages, and decks are delivered in an agreed editable format. I walk your team through how to use both.

We agree on the intended outcomes at the start. For a website, that could mean relevant enquiries, bookings, or sign-ups. For a deck, it could mean clearer understanding or progression to the next conversation. Those goals guide the work and what we look at after delivery.

The Complexity Gap

You know the product and industry inside out. The people buying or using it bring different levels of knowledge and experience. The work is in making that complexity manageable throughout the product—helping beginners get started, supporting people as their needs grow, and giving experts the depth and control they need.

The Retention Gap

Getting someone to try a product is one thing. Becoming part of their day-to-day workflow is another. That comes down to how well it helps them do their job—how naturally it fits into their work, how much easier it makes important tasks, and whether it gives them a reason to keep using it.

The Growth Gap

The business moves forward, but the experience doesn’t always keep up. The story reflects an earlier stage, the website struggles with new content, and the product feels different depending on where you are. Growth, engineering, business, and design teams spend more time explaining, fixing, and working around the gaps. It gets frustrating for everyone.
