Design Systems

Keep what makes it yours. Build on it.

I build design systems for brands, websites, and products—giving your team shared foundations, reusable patterns, and clear guidance as the work grows. Depending on what you need, I start with your brand and how it shows up, or your product and how people use it.

Where I come in

More people are making things. Keeping them together gets harder.

A new page feels slightly off-brand. The same component gets rebuilt. Figma and the live experience stop matching. Your team spends time figuring out decisions that should already be clear.

What I look for

Where consistency starts to slip.

  • The brand changes from place to place

The website, product, and presentations share a logo, but the type, colour, imagery, and layout feel like separate decisions.

  • Every page starts from scratch

Teams rebuild familiar sections because there aren’t useful patterns to work from—or enough guidance to adapt them.

  • Components don’t cover real use

The basics are there, but longer content, different roles, errors, and smaller screens still need working out.

  • Design and the build drift apart

Updates happen in different places. What’s in the library no longer matches what people see and use.

  • The reasoning lives in someone’s head

People can find the component, but don’t know when to use it, how to change it, or why it works that way.

  • The system struggles to keep up

New needs lead to more exceptions. Your team and AI tools need clearer rules to build on what’s already there.

Two starting points

I start with what the system needs to support.

Some systems begin with a brand that needs a more consistent expression. Others begin with a product that needs shared patterns and behaviour. When the work spans both, I connect them.

Brand & website

Carry the identity into everyday use.

I start with your brand’s visual language and how it should work across pages, content, and formats. Then I shape the foundations, sections, and templates your team can use without redesigning everything.

Visual foundations · Website sections · Templates · Usage guidelines

Product

Build around how people use the product.

I start with your users, workflows, and product requirements. Then I shape the tokens, components, and interaction patterns that help your team design and build consistently.

Design tokens · Components · Interaction patterns · Design-to-code guidance

My process

From shared decisions to a working system.

Choose your starting point

01 / Audit

Start with the product your team is building.

I review the product, libraries, and key workflows with your team. We identify what’s useful, what’s repeated, and where the system falls short.

Typical outputs:

  • 01Product and component inventory
  • 02Design and code consistency review
  • 03Gaps across key workflows
  • 04Agreed priorities and scope

How I think about the work

The system should carry the thinking forward.

Your team should understand what to use, why it works, and how to build on it. The foundations need to hold together while leaving room for different content, new features, and changing needs.

  1. 01

    Start with your context

I work from your brand, industry, and the way people use what you make. Those details shape the system’s rules and where it needs flexibility.

  2. 02

    Make room for real situations

I work through different content, screen sizes, roles, and states. The system needs to hold up beyond the examples it was first designed around.

  3. 03

    Connect design with the build

I work with the people implementing the system so naming, structure, and behaviour stay aligned with what your team can maintain.

  4. 04

Give AI the context to build well

I make design rules, patterns, and usage guidance explicit, so AI-assisted work can move faster while staying aligned with your brand, user experience, and business and engineering goals.

  5. 05

    Make it usable after handoff

I include examples, documentation, and guidance for making changes. Your team should feel confident using the system and taking it further.

Ways to work together

Review what’s there, build what’s missing, or keep it growing.

These engagements can follow a brand and website approach, a product approach, or bring both together.

Audit

Design System Audit

For teams with existing foundations or libraries that aren’t quite supporting the work. I help you see where things have drifted and what needs attention first.

What’s included:

  • 01Review of foundations, libraries, and real applications
  • 02Gaps in consistency, usability, and documentation
  • 03Findings prioritised by impact and effort
  • 04Clear recommendations and next steps

Build

System Build or Refresh

For teams creating a system or reworking one they’ve outgrown. We define the scope around what your brand, website, or product needs.

What’s included:

  • 01Agreed goals, scope, and rollout priorities
  • 02Visual foundations, tokens, and usage rules
  • 03Reusable components, patterns, and templates
  • 04Documentation for your team and AI-assisted workflows
  • 05Implementation guidance and reviews in real use

Ongoing

Ongoing System Support

For teams that need the system to evolve alongside their work. I stay involved as new pages, features, and requirements come up.

What’s included:

  • 01Dedicated time around monthly system priorities
  • 02New components, patterns, and templates
  • 03Updates to foundations and documentation
  • 04Regular reviews and implementation support

Testimonials

From people I’ve built things with.

She distills complex ideas into structured, coherent narratives that strengthen both product positioning and brand perception.

Clarity is the most underrated design skill — and one that truly defines impactful work. Disha consistently brings this clarity to every engagement.

She distills complex ideas into structured, coherent narratives that strengthen both product positioning and brand perception. She is a strong asset to any team — thoughtful, capable, and full of long‑term potential.

Frequently asked questions

The things people actually ask, answered plainly.

It can support any of the three. For brand and website work, I focus on visual foundations, sections, templates, and consistent application. For products, I focus on components, interactions, and behaviour. We can combine the approaches when needed.

Per project. I look at the scope and what you’re trying to achieve, then recommend the structure that suits it best. One-time project fees generally work well. I also take on monthly retainers for 2–3 months, with each month scoped to a set goal.

An established identity gives us a starting point. If positioning or the identity itself still needs work, we can scope that through my branding service before developing the system.

Yes. I review what your team uses and build from the parts that work. The scope might be a cleanup, missing components, better documentation, or a wider refresh.

Yes. We can start with a set of priority pages or workflows, apply the system there, and extend it as new needs come up.

The system gives AI tools explicit foundations, reusable patterns, and guidance to work from. I help organise that context around your team’s workflow and review how it translates into the resulting designs and builds.

Yes, in the way that suits your team. I can build the system so it works with AI tools like Claude, Codex and VS Code, in Figma and Storybook, and in the tech stack you’ve chosen: React, HTML/CSS/JS, iOS, Svelte and more. I can also work with your developers on design-to-code alignment, behaviour and build reviews. We agree on the scope at the start, with any development deliverables defined separately.

You get the agreed libraries, templates, documentation, and a walkthrough. We also establish how the system should be updated, with ongoing support available if your team needs it.

The Complexity Gap

You know the product and industry inside out. The people buying or using it bring different levels of knowledge and experience. The work is in making that complexity manageable throughout the product—helping beginners get started, supporting people as their needs grow, and giving experts the depth and control they need.

The Retention Gap

Getting someone to try a product is one thing. Becoming part of their day-to-day workflow is another. That comes down to how well it helps them do their job—how naturally it fits into their work, how much easier it makes important tasks, and whether it gives them a reason to keep using it.

The Growth Gap

The business moves forward, but the experience doesn’t always keep up. The story reflects an earlier stage, the website struggles with new content, and the product feels different depending on where you are. Growth, engineering, business, and design teams spend more time explaining, fixing, and working around the gaps. It gets frustrating for everyone.
